'OBSESSED'

A couple of days ago I told you all about our new neighbours. I asked if anypuppy knew what 'obsessed' meant and asked our friends Stormy, Amber, Zim & Dave at the A04 if they could help us.

Dave said 'I think "obsessed" is what you get in your tooth when you have a tooth ache. As in "I have an obsessed tooth". Zim said that's "abcessed" but he's already fooled me once today, so now I'm not really sure'. Check out Dave's blog 'Boxers Day' to see the trick Zim played on him!

Now me and Sum are really confused, we don't know if Dave or Zim are right - if anypup can help please please tell us!!!

A Siberian Husky.....Swimming???

Thought I would share a few photos with you from when we went to the river a few weeks ago. There was me, Prince and our good friends Quiquern and Aleka.

Me, I'm the only one that's trustworthy enough to go off lead!!!

Mom decided it was about time Prince showed us his swimming abilities. My little brother loves the water but only goes in as far as his little feety feets will let him touch the bottom. Here's a couple of photos of Princey after he'd been thrown in and had no choice but to swim back!!! Boy I'm glad they didn't do that to me!!!

We learnt that A) Prince can swim, B) he wasn't too impressed with the whole experience and last and most importantly C) us girls were real lucky we didn't get thrown in!!!

OUR FAVOURITE NEIGHBOURS

Thought it was about time I introduced you to our neighbours that moved in about three months ago. I think they're pretty cool and my big sister Summer gets real excited when she sees them too. They're both boys so my charm doesn't work on them the same as it does on girls but I'm sure they think I'm pretty handsome.

Mom says we're 'obsessed' with them, whatever that means. Can anypuppy tell me what that means? I might have to ask one of our friends from the A04......I'm sure they'll know.

We spend a lot of time lying next to the fence, hoping to catch a glimpse of them. Sometimes the black one comes right up to the fence and stares at us.....me and Sum get pretty excited when he does this and we make some noise and jump around a bit. Sometimes we even scratch at the fence or try & dig at the bottom of us. Mom tells us off if we get too excited.

That's right every puppy - they're CATS!!! Boy would we like to get into their courtyard!!! They've been in ours a few times and we've chased them out.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM TEAM HUSKY!!!

Hey everypuppy, it's me Summer!

I just wanted to wish you all a happy Christmas and I hope you get lots of yummy treats like turkey....yum I did! I got lots of fresh salmon too....Mom bought a HUGE fillet for me and Princey for our Christmas treat.....there's still a little bit left and I might share with you if you want to come visit:)

I got two cool new bones, ones for playing with and ones a chicken nylabone for chewing (someone must know I love chickens...yum yum)!!!

Haroo everypupper, it's me Prince!

I hope you are all having a siberrific Christmas filled with loads of squeaky toys and nice treats....we sure did! I got two cool new toys, a new duckie that squeaks (my old one doesn't no more) and a cool red rugby ball that squeaks....someone knows I LOVE squeaky toys!!! The other highlight of my day was the yummy turkey Mom gave us and the juicy fresh salmon....mmmmm, can't wait to finish the rest of it!

WANT ME TO SHARE A SECRET???

Hi everypuppy, it's me Summer!!!

I've got something I want to tell you cause today is a very very special day - IT'S PRINCE'S BIRTHDAY!!!

I just wanted to wish my little brother a siberriffic birthday and let you all know he is now the same age as me - 3.

You should have seen what our Mom cooked us for tea - we had the most huge salmon tail ever - it was sooooo yummy. Silly Mom forgot to take a photo so we can't show you but it really was big big big. I hope she cooks me a special birthday tea when it's my big day.....mmmmm, I can't wait!

THE AO4'S CUDDLIEST MEMBER IS......

I ran a poll recently and Dave was voted the cuddliest A04 member - way to go Dave! Stormy was close behind him....very close!

OUR FIRST MAPAW COOKIES!!!

I'm here to report on our first MaPaw cookie experience....they were positively Siberi-licious!!!!

Mom got busy the other day and made Canine Carrot Cookies and Banana Biscotti - Summer and I thought they were both grrrreeeaaaattttt!!!

Here's a photo of them fresh out of the oven:

Mom likes the Carrot ones for Sum as they are 'lighter' than the Biscotti and Sum has to watch her weight. Mom even taste tested the Biscotti and said we'd better be good otherwise she'd eat all our cute little bone shaped cookies, it appears bipeds like them too!!!

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am.

Bastards.

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released -and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...

THE PRINCESTER IS HERE TO HELP YOU KELSEY ANN!!!

This post is for our friend from a long long way away Kelsey Ann. She sounds likes she's a bit confused as to why her Mom would pet vet wrap on her leg when she's been licking at it lots.

Kelsey Ann don't be upset.....I agree your Mom could have picked a better colour for such a sweet girl. Just look at it how I did when my Mom put vet wrap on my legs (and it was both of them!!!)....I had cool racing stripes!!! Here's a photo of me with my purple racing stripes...I actually think it looks pretty cool. Hey why don't you see if your Mom will put a stripe on your other leg so you have matching stripes too!!!




I had vet wrap on my legs because my big sister Summer (pictured above looking very evil and happy with herself) used to get a little carried away when she played with me for the first while after she arrived at our house. She put teeth holes in my legs and of course I kept licking them and they turned into lick sores.

WELCOME TO THE 'THOMAS PACK' - DOLCE & BLAZE

Hi everypuppy, it's me Summer

I'd like to introduce you to two new friends of ours - Dolce and Blaze. They've recently joined our good friends Jo & Karl and the Thomas Pack (Black Kat Racing).

Dolce arrived in August - isn't she a lovely bi-eyed beauty!!! She doesn't know how lucky she is to be in the Black Kat Racing team as they don't normally go for blue eyes.....she's got the only blue eye out of all 14 puppy eyes!!! Her new Mom Jo has lovely blue eyes, here's a photo of Jo with our Mom from earlier in the year when Jo & Karl got married. Karl has blue eyes too....I really can't understand why they aren't too sure about puppies with blue eyes???

Blaze arrived in September - he's gonna be quite a catch for some lucky girl when he gets older don't you think? Blaze is also very lucky to join his new family as they don't normally take puppies and Blaze was only 6 months old when he arrived!

SUMMER WITH A SMALL 'S'

Haroo everypupper, it's me Prince!

I was just checking out my favourite blogs and our good friend Echo mentioned an interesting fact in his Website Wesnesday post. I quote....well woo woo woo:

P.S. At the risk of speaking too soon, I think summer got blown away in Pennsylvania last night. Oh....not Summer with the capital 'S' - summer with the small 's'.

I'm glad Echo made it very clear that it was summer with a small 's' and I'm glad I read the whole sentence as I was just about to go hunt down my Summer - Summer with a capital 'S'. I thought she'd gone and left me all alone!!!

Anywoo, I think I found summer with a small 's' - it's blown all the way over to us - wow, from Pennsylvania to Invercargill...that's a real long way.

It's getting quite warm here so we're not running on scooters and rigs anymore, just walking & jogging. Boy is it gonna be a long 4 months or so until we start our training again:( Last year I found it too hot to even jog sometimes......I'm a pupper that can't handle the heat. Summer loves lying in the sun....you'll almost always find the Princester in the shade.

Summer & Prince - Interviewed by Zim of the AO4!!!

Hi everypuppy it's me - Summer!

We were so excited to be interviewed by one of our favorite Siberians - Zim! of the AO4. It was sooooo cool!

Let's get started!I'll put Zim's words in bold italics so you can follow along!

Are you ready to get started? Here are the questions!

1. Are either of you secretly hoping your mom will bring one of those tiny puppies home to be part of your family?

Summer - Kind of, I don't really like puppies but it would be really cool to have a little brother or sister to boss around. I am older than Prince but he was with our Mom before me and is the boss out of him and me. He lets me annoy him, boss him and chase him round and stuff but when it comes down to it he's the boss.

Prince - I'm quite happy with just me, Sum and Mom but it would be kinda nice to have a fast dog to run with. Summer is too slow for me and Mom has to have the brakes on lots to slow me down so I don't get to stretch my handsome siberian body out much when I run with her. I have lots of other friends that I run with though so it's not too much of a problem.....I like stretching out on the bed and if there was another of us it just wouldn't be the same:)

2. Your mama is SO supportive of the MaPaw Sibe rescue group in PA! (She's SO cool!) Since you're in New Zealand, how did she "discover" the group?

Summer and Prince - Our Mom blushed when she read that you had called her cool.....we think she's pretty cool too. Mom was just surfing the web for Sibe info and found the MaPaw website. She emailed MaPaw and told Ma that she thought they were all awesome for the fantastic work they do to help our brothers and sisters and that she loved the website. Ma replied and it all started from there. Mom recalls getting an email from Bernie asking her if she wanted to join the MaPaw forum...Mom was really excited and joined and well....the rest is history!!! She's been hooked ever since and just wishes she lived closer to MaPaw so she could help out.

3. How often do either of you get to run in harness?

Summer and Prince - When the weather is cold enough we go out for runs three times a week, pulling a scooter or rig. Sometimes we pull Mom on her bike - this is called bikejoring. We even tried pulling our friend on a boogy board int eh shallow surf at the beach a couple of times a few months ago - we called it canisurfing! We go out normally on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Sunday morning. When the weather is warmer, like now:(, we go for walks and jogs.

4. How do you train up for that?

Prince - We go for runs and walks all year round to keep us reasonably fit. When the weather starts cooling down we start off doing short runs on scooters and rigs and slowly build up the distance so we are ready for when racing season begins in June. Our winter is at a different time to yours, you probably have warm weather in June. Once our fitness levels are good we just keep up with the running.

Summer - Princey also gets fed more premium food during the cooler months when he is running as he gets super fit and loses a few kilos. He normally gets a cup of maintenance and a cup of premium but when it's racing season he gets a cup and a half of premium and a cup of maintenance. Poor me just gets the same all year round......just under a cup of maintenance. Mom doesn't give me anymore as she says I'm too 'chubby' as it is. She calls me her Sibrador as she's sure I'm half lab:)

5. Would you share the stories of how you found your fur-ever home?

Prince - Well Mom told me once a long long time ago how she found me. She was thinking about getting a companion of her own and had spoken to a lady about an adult Sibe that needed a new home as his owners were moving to a place called England. She found out who bred him and rung the breeder to ask a few questions and the lady mentioned that she had two puppies at her place that she had brought over from Perth, Australia and that it was a pity she hadn't of known as she could have brought another over for Mom. Mom was heading up her way and arranged to call in and meet her and have a look at the two puppies she had, asked her if she would consider selling one of them. She said she shouldn't really keep both of them but she had had their parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on and felt quite attached to them. She said to come up and meet them and she would have a think about it. Mom saw me for the first time when I was five months old - it was a Friday at the beginning of April 2005, she thought my sister (Peace) and I were real cute. I really liked the lady that was soon to be my Mom and the lady that brought us over from Australia liked her too so on Sunday I went on a big adventure to my furever home:) There was an older sister there for me - Tara the golden labrador - she passed away around Christmas time. Summer arrived later that year in November but I'll let you tell her how Mom found her.

Summer - My Mom first saw me for sale on a website. She thought I looked so bewootiful that she emailed the lady and asked her about me. She wanted to get someone for her Prince to play with:) They were moving to China and couldn't take me with them. They sent lots of emails over the next few weeks and spoke on the phone a few times. About a month later Mom drove a long long way to meet me and fell in love with me straight away and I her. She stayed at my house with my old Mom and her little biped and brought me back to my furever home the very next day to meet Prince and Tara, my new little brother and big sister. I had a bit of a muddled start to life, I, like Princey, was born in Australia. My second home was with people that brought me to New Zealand to breed and show. I had four cute little puppies when I was very young and they decided to keep one of my boys. They sold me to my third home when the other puppies were sold. My third home was where I was when my furever Mom found me and I'm so glad she did:)
